A USB data cable – 50% shorter charging time

Many people are quite dissatisfied with the speed of charging mobile phones. Recently, I saw a project called DouBBleTime on the technology network. By adding a smart chip, when a normal USB data cable is charged, the time is reduced by nearly 50%.

A regular USB cable can be used to transfer data while charging the device, and the DouBBleTime cable is equipped with a switch that allows the USB cable to go into “charge only” mode, allowing your device to charge more quickly.

The internal principle of DouBBleTime is not complicated. It has a simple special chip built in and sends instructions to the computer. The information then allows the cable to bypass the USB output power and connect directly to the motherboard. Special chips provide overcurrent protection and short circuit protection, which ensures the safety of computers and equipment. According to the actual test for the iPhone, the current before the data transmission function is turned off is about 500 mA, and the current is about 1000 mA after the shutdown, and the charging speed is much faster.

In addition, after the data synchronization function is turned off, the security is relatively improved, and the personal data is protected by blocking the data line connection, thereby avoiding data exchange between the smart phone and the unfamiliar device. The role of this chip is to make a computer command, to avoid being identified as a smart phone, so the computer will not initiate a request for data exchange.

The DouBBleTime cable is available for PC and Mac with both Lightning and Micro-USB cable. It is still in the fundraising phase and has not yet announced the specific price and listing date.
